Greenspin FAQ
What is dry cleaning?
Traditionally, dry cleaning involves cleaning garments in liquid chemicals in the absence of water.
How does our cleaning process differ?
Our CLOUD machine does not use any traditional solvents. It uses a laundry-based detergent to clean and dry steam to push any excess dirt, moisture and detergent out of the garment.
What are the benefits of the CLOUD process?
-No harsh chemicals or odor
-Great for sensitive skin
-Gentle on most leather/suede/fur trim
-No fading: keeps bright colors bright, and dark colors dark
Is there any shrinking from the moisture?
We have been utilizing the CLOUD cleaning machine for nearly 10 years and shrinking has not been an issue.
What is starch and how does it affect my clothes?
Starch is a plant compound also found in certain foods. When applied to clothing it can make the garment stiffer and crisper, thus making it more wrinkle resistant. When an item is coated in starch, it may also aid in stain resistance as the starch can soak up certain types of stains before it reaches the fabric. One of the drawbacks is that when you make anything stiffer, the structural integrity can be weakened by flexing. Similar to bending a stiff pencil versus a bending a rubber band, a heavily starched shirt will be more prone to ripping in certain areas like the elbows, shoulders or knees where the fabric is being constantly bent.
What should I do if my garment is damaged?
Although rare, it does happen due to the sheer volume of clothing we handle on a daily basis. Let us know the issue and we will always try to find a solution to repair it or work out a fair compensation for your garment. Your long-term satisfaction will always be our goal.
Do you have a plant on premises?
We do have our own plant so unlike drop-off only locations, we can clean your garments faster and better than a place that outsources their cleaning because we control every aspect of quality control. We also do not wholesale our cleaning process to other drop-off locations so our customers’ garments will have our full and undivided attention.
Customer Tips
Do not remove care tags- although they can be a nuisance, it give us pertinent information about cleaning your garments by letting us know the type of fabric and recommended method of cleaning.
Deal with stain immediately- time is of the essence when a garment has a stain. The longer you wait, the higher the chance of the stain setting in the fabric.
Store items AFTER cleaning- Sometimes we get busy or forgetful when it comes to cleaning our garments, especially seasonal items like comforters and winter coats. If you plan on not wearing it for a while, it is best to clean the items before storing to keep it fresh and ready to wear when the next season hits.
